Hailey Gavin is a documentary editor and producer who is passionate about observational, character-driven storytelling. Her work often features interweaving narratives that influence and shape each other.

She was the sole editor and story producer on the Oscar-shortlisted forty minute film “Until He’s Back,” which screened around the world, won two SIMA awards, was nominated for an IDA award, appeared on the DOCNYC Shortlist and won Best Short at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival and El Paso Film Festival, among other honors.

Hailey directed, produced and edited the Emmy-nominated television episode “The New Death,” which follows the forming of rituals around a new deathcare technology called body composting.

She was one of three editors on the Emmy and Murrow Award-winning episode, “A Hidden War,” which documented the systematic destruction of residential buildings across Gaza.

Hailey’s work has received four total News & Documentary Emmy nominations, won a GLAAD Media Award and been recognized by the Overseas Press Club, NABJ and ONA. Her video essays analyzing TV and film have gained millions of views on YouTube. She is currently based in Boston, MA.
